Solubility: solubility in water at 25ºC was 0.5g/L. Insoluble in cold water, alcohol and general organic solvents. Soluble in sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and ammonia solution.

Ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a kind of organic compounds. It's white powder under atmospheric pressure. It is a kind of chelating agent which can act with Mg2+, Ca2+, Mn2+, Fe2+. Because most nucleic acid enzymes and the role of some protein enzymes need Mg2+, so it's often used as hibitors for nucleic acid enzyme.
